A video about girlhood
Our group worked together on a project where we had to create a narrative experience. All our projects were centered around the theme of nostalgia, so we decided to make a video exploring the nostalgic feelings related to girlhood. My responsibility was to create the ending, which featured an elderly character trying to relive a special memory while expressing the frustration that comes with memory loss.

To bring this to life, I reinterpreted the previous videos from our group using agitated, messy drawings. I took pictures of the drawings as they progressed and combined them into a stop-motion video. The drawings showed bits from the earlier videos but were sketched in a vague and wiped-away style. I also added an effect with black blurred figures on the video, inspired by my research on how people with dementia see their memories.

After finishing my part, we added a voiceover of a woman reading a poem about girlhood. The sound turned out to be a significant improvement to our video, pulling everything together effectively. Overall, our collaborative effort successfully combined different creative elements to represent the theme of nostalgia and girlhood in a unified way.

Our video was displayed through the window of a house, representing a childhood home. We constructed the house ourselves and installed a projector inside, playing the video within the house. This setup created the effect of viewing the video as if you were looking through a window.
This is the end result of our group.

These are the cards we gave out. It's a post card as a souvenir so you can keep it as a memory. On the card the poem from the video is written.
